Regularly Scheduled flight transportation
In many cases when the medical condition of a patient requires transportation to a medical facility which is not available locally, a decision is made for transportation of a patient into another city or a country for further hospitalization and/or rehabilitation. For a person travelling abroad the decision is made based on the preferences of the patient, his/her employer, or the insurance company, or the family.
In those cases where the patient’s medical condition allows and there is an air connection to the place of destination, the patient can be transported by a regularly scheduled flight with a doctor, nurse or full medical team escort. For transporting patients in a laying position a dedicated part of a plane is separated in the front or in the back of the aircraft. When stretches are used such stretches are placed on the dedicated seats.
For patients whose medical condition does not allow transportation by a regularly scheduled flight there is always an option to use an air ambulance.
